Autumn Trail

Lafayette County's Trails

Lafayette County is home to the Cheese Country Trail and Pecatonica State Trail which make up over sixty off-road multi-use miles.  The trails meander throughout the county connecting towns and villages along the way.   The Cheese Country and Pecatonica State trails are maintained by the Tri-County ATV Club and its members.  The Cheese Country trail connects Lafayette to Iowa and Green Counties, while County approved road routes for ATV/UTV's link to Grant County and Jo Daviess County, IL making it easy to see the wonderful landscapes of the driftless region.  The multi-use trails are open to Hiking, Biking, ATV's, UTV's, Snowshoeing, Horseback Riding, snowmobiling and more!

The Mound View State Trail is now open as a bike and pedestrian trail.  This trail links Belmont and the Pecatonica State Trail to the Roundtree Branch Trail in Platteville.  Please be advised that the Mound View State trail is non-motorized. For more information please visit our brand new Mound View State Trail website by Eagle Scout, Liam Kivirist. http://moundviewstatetrail.com/
